Shuttle services are a versatile means to address many transportation challenges around the region. They can take senior citizens and people with disabilities to activities and medical appointments, connect residential neighborhoods to transit stations, take employees from transit to work, transport students around college campuses, help residents get around their neighborhood, and connect travelers with airport terminals. This workshop will help you determine whether a shuttle could help address your transportation challenges, and how best to package a proposal for a new service. We will address the key factors that determine the success of a shuttle service: market, route, schedule and frequency, operator, vehicles, regulatory requirements, fares, and funding sources. The workshop will feature speakers with strong experience in starting, operating and evaluating shuttle services in our region.
