Membership in TOGETHER NORTH JERSEY (TNJ) shall be voluntary and open to any public jurisdiction, agency or authority; non-governmental organization; neighborhood association; community and faith-based organization; private business or company; or educational institution located in the region or serving the region subject to approval by the TNJ Executive Committee. Any party wishing to become a member of TOGETHER NORTH JERSEY may do so at any time by completing a membership application and attaching the requested documentation.  Membership requests will be considered based on the following criteria:

Public:  Public jurisdictions, entities, agencies and authorities located in or having service areas within the 13-county planning region shall be eligible to become members upon receipt of a fully-executed TOGETHER NORTH JERSEY Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).  This shall include the Highlands Council, Meadowlands Commission, and Pinelands Commission.  The MOU must be signed by an authorized representative of the jurisdiction, agency or authority. Executive branch departments/agencies of the State of New Jersey are considered members of TOGETHER NORTH JERSEY by virtue of the MOU signed by the NJ Department of State, Office of Planning Advocacy.

Non-Governmental: Non-governmental organizations; neighborhood associations; tenant groups; community and faith-based organization; and other similar organizations located in and/or serving populations or areas within the 13-county planning region may request membership in TOGETHER NORTH JERSEY.  Requests for membership should include the following documentation:

  1. Completed application form
  2. MOU signed by an authorized organizational representative
  3. Evidence that organization is active and functioning.  This may include any or all of the following:
    • Evidence of incorporation, such as Tax ID number, DUNS number, or similar documentation
    • Organizational bylaws
    • Evidence of recent past meetings, including meeting notices, minutes, etc
    • Active membership lists

Private:  Private businesses and companies located and/or doing business in the 13-county planning region may request membership in TOGETHER NORTH JERSEY.  Requests for membership should include the following documentation:

  1. Completed application form
  2. MOU signed by an authorized organizational representative
  3. Evidence of incorporation, such as Tax ID number, DUNS number, or similar documentation

Educational Institutions:  Educational institutions located in and/or serving populations or areas within the 13-county planning region may request membership in TOGETHER NORTH JERSEY.  Requests for membership should include the following documentation:

  1. Completed application form
  2. MOU signed by an authorized organizational representative
  3. Evidence of incorporation, such as Tax ID number, DUNS number, or similar documentation

Requests for membership will be entertained on a rolling basis.  Requests for membership submitted prior to the 15th day of each month will be considered that month.  Requests submitted after the 15th day of each month may not be considered until the following month.  Acknowledgement that a membership request has been received will be sent via email.  Applicants will be notified in writing within 10 days of the close of each month whether a membership request has been accepted.
