The Discovery Phase of the RPSD planning process involves a series of public workshops and other community engagement events where the goal is to facilitate discussion around two key questions: “Where are we now? Where are we headed?”
During these events the public is informed about the baseline conditions of the region in terms of demographics (population, jobs, housing, etc.), access and mobility, and other environmental conditions.
The events typically include a an overview of Together North Jersey, a “Listen and Learn” group discussion, and interactive polling related to our shared values, regional planning goals, and key issues facing the region.
The initial group of workshops were hosted by local city and county governments. An additional round of workshops is being held by our partner NGOs, along with a series of “going to them” initiatives at area malls, festivals and other large gatherings.
City and County Outreach
The first series of workshops were hosted by our city and county government partners.
We have prepared a slideshow showcasing the key findings of these series of workshops.
Individual reports for each workshop can be downloaded below. (PDF format).
Together with several Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) or community-based partners as part of the NGO Micro-Grant program,
Together North Jersey is holding workshops to gather input from traditionally under-represented populations.
Reports from these outreach efforts will be posted here as they are made available.
“Pop-Up” Kiosk and Other Outreach
Together North Jersey is also going out to meet people from the norther part of our state. Outreach is being conducted at area malls, festivals and other public events.
Reports from these outreach efforts will be posted here as they’re made available.
