The Vibrant Communities Initiative provides targeted support to municipalities, counties, and community organizations in the NJTPA region through technical assistance, placemaking projects, information resources, and applied research continuing the mission of municipal capacity building originally advanced through the Together North Jersey Initiative. This work is supported by a partnership with the Voorhees Transportation Center (VTC) at Rutgers University along with The Center for Community Systems and the Hillier College of Architecture and Design at NJIT. The Vibrant Communities Initiative promotes economic development, highlights cultural and historic resources, and engages communities in opportunities to enhance the quality of life for all residents. The Initiative advances goals form the NJTPA’s Long Range Transportation Plan while building strong, vibrant communities.
